Why we are partnered with TrustID

As we expand our service parameters outside of just DBS Checks and into a broader field of identity and background checks, we have found it most beneficial not just to Care Check, but to our clients to work with some of the most reputable and established partners in the business.

One of the companies who we have decided to work with is a company called TrustID. In this blog, we delve into who TrustID are, what they do, and why we work with them.

What do TrustID do?

TrustID are a Certified Identity Service Provider (IDSP) by the UK Government for Right to Work and DBS ID Digital Schemes.

Through a combination of Identity Document Validation Technology (IDVT) backed up by a team of UK based analysts it ensures accurate result each time a check is performed. Using an IDSP to complete DBS ID validation also reduces the number of documents employers need to see which ensures the process is quick and simple for both the employer and the prospective applicants.

How does it work?

TrustId provides a secure platform to conduct Digital ID and Right to Work checks. Employers provide applicants with an invitation that allows them to upload images of their passports for DBS ID verification or their Home Office Share codes for Right to Work verification. This process ensures that the checks are carried out in a safe and reliable manner.

Applicants are also requested to upload a ‘selfie’ style photo of themselves as part of this check to provide additional protection against identity theft and fraud.

All customer checks include an identity fraud check against both the UK Police (Amberhill) and TrustID’s own fraudulent document databases.

To satisfy the DBS identity requirements an address verification will be completed at the same time which will try and match the address details given by the applicant to information held by banks, electoral roll details, etc

Why have we partnered with TrustID as our IDSP?

We took the decision to partner with TrustID for a number of reasons. One of the primary reasons is the access to expert support and flexibility in identity verification.

The TrustID Expert Identity Helpdesk Team are often regarded as the best in the industry for identity document checking and review thousands of documents each week. They review any documents submitted which are of poor image quality, high risk documents and those that are suspected to be fraudulent.

Additionally, using their smartphone, candidates can now verify their identity from anywhere, saving time and streamlining the verification process for our clients. This provides new employees with a more positive and seamless experience.
